Glenn A Weitzman, M. D. Dr. Weitzman is Board
certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty certified in
Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He received his medical
degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Upon
graduation, he was presented with the Laurel and Clarence H.
Koenneckei Award for the most promise in the surgical field of
gynecology. He completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics
and Gynecology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Weitzman remained at Baylor to complete a fellowship in
Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility where he received
extensive training in microsurgery, pelvic reparative surgery and
the assisted reproductive technologies including IVF. In 1991, he
traveled to Kiel, Germany to study with one of the "fathers" of
operative laparoscopy, Dr. Kurt Semm.
Prior to joining the Nashville Fertility Center in 1995, Dr.
Weitzman served as Director of the Assisted Reproductive Technology
Program and Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas for
Medical Sciences located in Little Rock, Arkansas. There, his
research interests centered around environmental toxins and their
effects on reproduction. At the University, Dr. Weitzman trained
residents in the specialty and was recognized by medical students
with the Red Sash Award for faculty with most significant input into
their medical education. He also taught physician courses in
infertility and the surgical use of CO2 and Nd:YAG lasers.
Dr. Weitzman has published several papers in the most
respected journals focusing on human reproduction, and he has
presented papers at national and international conferences.
Along with his three associates, Dr. Weitzman was recently
selected by his physician peers as one of the best physicians in
Nashville. As the father of three young children, Dr, Weitzman is
keenly sensitive to the emotional needs of those wishing to share in
the joys of parenthood.
