Meghan Smith MD provides comprehensive and compassionate fertility care


Nashville Fertility Center is now home to Meghan Smith MD. While Dr. Smith is the most-recent addition to our physician team, this Tennessee fertility doctor isn’t new to fertility care.

She comes to us from a practice in Southern California. Dr. Smith firmly believes that each patient should receive a customized fertility treatment plan to help them meet their unique family-building goals. In addition to providing leading-edge fertility care, she also stresses the importance of treating each patient with compassion and respect.

After earning her Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from New York University, Dr. Smith earned her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine.

Meghan Smith MD completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University before coming to The University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine for her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

During her fellowship, our Tennessee fertility doctor served as a clinical instructor at the Keck School of Medicine. She enjoyed playing a role in training the next generation of OBGYNs and fertility doctors.

Dr. Smith believes that research helps improve reproductive care for all. As such, this Tennessee fertility doctor is an active researcher, understanding that advances from the “bench to the bedside” drive improved outcomes for patients with infertility.

She is especially interested in studying laboratory techniques to improve patient outcomes, as well as social media and healthcare. Her thesis focused on the topic of finding the optimal time to perform intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). She has published numerous articles in Fertility and Sterility and the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics. Additionally, she serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for submitted manuscripts for several journals.

Throughout her career, Dr. Smith has won several awards, including the Frank Lynch Memorial Essay from the Pacific Coast Obstetrical and Gynecological Society for her work on obstetrical outcomes in gestational carrier pregnancies.

Dr. Smith is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Smith is also a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (SREI). When she is not working, Dr. Smith enjoys running and has competed in multiple marathons.
