Nashville Fertility

Certified Fertility Laboratory

Ovation Fertility™ Nashville, the IVF lab of Nashville Fertility Center is a certified fertility laboratory.

Ovation Fertility™ Nashville, formerly Reproductive Specialty Laboratory of Middle Tennessee is the IVF lab of Nashville Fertility Center. This certified fertility lab was awarded a certificate of accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) in 1993. The reproductive accreditation program examines all aspects of quality assurance in the laboratory, including methodology, reagents, quality control, medical equipment, specimen handling, procedural manuals, reports, proficiency testing, personnel, safety, and the overall management principles that distinguish a quality laboratory. Successful accreditation indicates that a laboratory is one of an exclusive group of reproductive laboratories around the country that meet the highest standards of excellence as recognized by its peers.

At the time of the original award, Ovation Fertility™ Nashville was one of the first reproductive laboratories in the country and was the first reproductive laboratory in Tennessee to be accredited by this organization and was advised of this national recognition and congratulated by the Commission for the “excellence of the services being provided”.

Since 1993, our certified fertility lab has obtained re-certification through this same organization every two years.

The accreditation of reproductive laboratories was inaugurated early in 1993 as a cooperative effort between the CAP and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). The CAP is a medical society serving more than 14,500 physician members and the laboratory community throughout the world. It is the world’s largest association composed exclusively of pathologists and is widely considered the leader in laboratory quality assurance. CAP is an advocate for high quality and cost-effective medical care. ASRM is a voluntary non-profit organization devoted to advancing knowledge and expertise in reproductive medicine and biology. ASRM membership includes more than 20,000 clinicians and scientists in the United States and more than eighty other countries.
