We are proud to welcome Dr. Meghan Smith to our Tennessee fertility clinic

Meghan Smith MD, Board Certified OBGYNYou may notice a new face at Nashville Fertility Center. Dr. Meghan “Meggie” Smith has returned to her home state of Tennessee to help local women and men become parents. “I wanted to bring my knowledge and expertise back to Tennessee,” she explains.

As a Tennessee fertility specialist, Dr. Smith can treat all the complex causes of male and female infertility. She has a special interest in treating unexplained infertility and providing egg freezing support. Dr. Smith even froze her own eggs, so she understands this process as both a doctor and a patient.

Why did Dr. Meghan Smith become a fertility doctor?

Like all reproductive endocrinologists (fertility doctors), Dr. Smith first completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She enjoyed working with patients during transformative times in their lives, specifically during childbirth. This interest inspired her to go a step further and pursue a career in reproductive medicine.

“My passion for women’s health grew into a desire to help people grow their families,” Dr. Smith explains. “Family is the most important part of my life, so I wanted to help patients start and grow their own families.”

As part of her journey to become a fertility doctor, Dr. Smith completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.

What is Dr. Smith’s best advice for fertility patients?

Our Tennessee fertility specialist believes it’s important to be proactive about your fertility. According to Dr. Meghan Smith, “No one ever imagines needing a fertility doctor, but I always tell people to visit a reproductive endocrinologist before they think they need to go.”

After making an appointment, she encourages patients to ask as many questions as they want. “It can be like learning a new language when you start fertility treatment, so it can be overwhelming. But your doctor is here to be a source of support for you.”

As you progress on your fertility journey, Dr. Smith stresses that perseverance is key. “It’s one of the biggest predictors of success. If you stick with it through the highs and lows, we’ll eventually be able to get you on your path to parenthood one way or another.”

If you’d like to schedule an appointment with Dr. Meghan Smith, we invite you to contact us. She and our entire team look forward to helping you bring home a healthy baby.
